Make a good signature image
- Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper, a little larger than usual.
- Photograph or scan it in good light and crop tightly around the signature.
- Remove the white background so only the ink remains (a transparent PNG). Then it sits naturally on lines and stamps.
Place it on the document
Open Sign PDF, load the document, add your signature and drag it onto the signature line. Resize it so it matches the space on the form; a real signature on an A4 form is usually a few centimetres wide. Add the date as text if the form asks for it, then download the signed PDF.
Keep the original unsigned file as well, in case you need to correct something later.
Is it accepted?
Many employers, landlords and schools accept a signed PDF by email. Some offices still require a handwritten signature on paper, an attested copy or a certified digital signature. The rules differ by country and by organisation, so when the document is important, ask the receiver which kind of signature they accept before you send it.
