Canada passport photo (50 × 70 mm)
Canadian passport photos use a 50 × 70 mm format, larger than most countries. ScanifyAI crops to this size (591 × 827 px at 300 DPI) and replaces the background with white.
Note that Canadian visa applications often use the standard 35 × 45 mm size instead – choose the preset that matches your form, and check IRCC’s current rules.
How to do it
- Take a front-facing photo with even light.
- Open the tool – the Canada preset is selected.
- Choose Pure White and adjust the head position.
- Print the sheet at actual size.
Tips
- Canadian passport photos are usually taken by a commercial photographer who stamps the back – check whether a home print is accepted for your application.

Frequently asked questions
Is the visa photo the same?
Not always. Many Canadian visa applications use 35 × 45 mm – use the UK & Schengen preset for that size.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Background replacement, cropping and resizing all run in your browser. The photo stays on your phone or computer.
Will the office accept this photo?
The tool produces the published size and a plain background, but acceptance also depends on lighting, expression and the office’s own review. Always check the current rules of the authority you are applying to.
Can I reduce the photo to a KB limit for an online form?
Yes. Under “Crop, size and file format”, turn on the file size limit and enter the KB value the portal asks for before you download.
