About this tool
A scanned PDF is just a set of pictures, so you cannot search it or copy text from it. OCR PDF recognises the words on every page and adds an invisible text layer in exactly the right place. The pages look the same as before, but now Ctrl+F, text selection and copy work.
English and other Latin-script text is added to the PDF’s text layer. Urdu and Arabic text is recognised and shown for copying. All recognition happens on your device.
How to use OCR PDF (Searchable PDF)
- Choose a scanned PDF or a photo of a document.
- Select the text language.
- Press Make PDF Searchable and wait while each page is read.
- Download the searchable PDF and copy any recognised text you need.
